From the National Council on Severe Autism: Every year, around September 26th, we provide reminders, inspiration and information to autism and special needs families about emergency preparedness, in honor of the late Feda and Muhammed Almaliti, who perished in a tragic house fire on September 26, 2020. This year's video focuses on the story of Denise Lombardi, an autism mom in upstate New York who felt a call to take action and become a firefighter herself. We hope all autism families will take just 10 minutes every September to consider what steps, even very small steps, they can take to be prevent disaster.
